I recently purchased a beautiful winter coat from the Norwegian Wool showroom in New York City and couldn’t be more pleased. It’s rare to find a classy cashmere/wool coat that is so beautifully lined, insulated with down, that also accommodates a sports/suit jacket or heavy sweater underneath. It’s a highly versatile winter coat that works for both dressy and casual occasions. It’s nice and warm but not the least bit bulky. Their NYC showroom and website offer an extensive collection of winter and year-round coats and jackets for both men and women in various sizes and lengths. I’m only 5’5” and have difficulty finding off the shelf outerwear that fits. The XS was perfect. They use fine Italian wools in either all cashmere or cashmere/wool blends. I was fortunate enough to work with Emma in their NYC showroom. She was extremely knowledgeable and helpful in selecting the perfect style, length, color, and fit for my needs and preferences. I also appreciated that there was no sales pressure. Emma did however take the time to explain their unique approach to manufacturing winter coats using this smart combination of fine Italian wool coupled with Norwegian engineering, insulated with high quality down to construct outerwear that is sleek, warm, and versatile. It’s really the best of both worlds – a down parka on the inside and a stylish cashmere/wool coat on the outside. In terms of cost, I honestly would have expected to pay much more. These coats have outstanding value given the high level of quality, materials, and workmanship. I anticipate I’ll get decades, if not a lifetime of use out of this Norwegian wool coat. I’m delighted to have found them and they will be my go-to for future outerwear.
