What a beautifully constructed coat. It wears like it was handmade! You can just...tell. Stitches are firm, jacket feels firm, everything feels and looks in order.
It's warm, it has multiple modes of wear to suit the moment/environment (totally open, little vest zipped up, vest + buttons, no vest + buttons), pocket space is great for the hands and inside,
And it's soft! Soooo soft. I like finding excuses to wear it because it just feels good to wear.
The only ding, but not enough to lose a star is because...is it actually waterproof? I've worn it in the rain and the water does not just bead off at all. Like at all. I don't know how else to test it's waterproof-ness, so I guess I'm just stuck wondering.
It's forsure an investment! But one that I think is worth it. I have never felt more comfortable in the elements than I have with a norwegian wool. I think I'll have it for at least my life time.
Hi Joe,
Thank you for the kind and thoughtful review! Regarding the waterproof factor - what makes the fabric is an inner physical membrane that is bonded to the outer wool or cashmere. This means that yes, the outer fabric can and will get wet in a downpour, BUT the membrane functions as a true blocker that will truly prevent and moisture from seeping through! This means that you will NOT get wet, the down lining will NOT get wet and only the outer layer will get wet on the outer side - thus drying very quickly. The coat will not get soaked through and way 100lbs like other wool coats. So we invite you to test this out and see for yourself , we are confident this function will kick in quite well.
